At Germantown Community Theatre, we believe the performing arts have the power to inspire confidence, spark creativity, and build community. Our education programs are designed to provide students of all ages with a welcoming environment where they can explore theatre, develop new skills, and express themselves through performance.

From a child's first time on stage to advanced training for aspiring performers, GCT offers engaging educational experiences led by accomplished local teaching artists. Every class encourages collaboration, creativity, and personal growth while helping students build a strong foundation in the theatrical arts.

Summer Camps

Our popular summer camps welcome young artists ages 6 and up for immersive, week-long experiences in acting, singing, and dance. Campers learn the fundamentals of musical theatre while working together as an ensemble to create memorable performances. Whether they're stepping onto the stage for the first time or returning to build on previous experience, students gain confidence, friendships, and a love for live theatre.

Classes & Workshops

During the fall and spring semesters, GCT offers eight-week courses for students of all experience levels. Programs are available during the day for homeschool families and in the afternoons and evenings for after-school participants. Classes are taught by experienced theatre professionals and cover a variety of disciplines, including:

New classes and specialty workshops are introduced throughout the year to provide students with exciting opportunities to continue growing as performers and theatre artists.

Youth Productions

Every season, Germantown Community Theatre proudly produces two fully staged productions featuring casts made entirely of young performers. These productions give students the opportunity to rehearse, collaborate, and perform for live audiences in a professional theatre environment.

Participation in our youth productions is completely free. There are no participation fees, and families are never required to sell playbill advertisements, making these productions accessible to young artists throughout our community.

A Stage for All

Inclusive Theatre Workshops

Germantown Community Theatre is proud to offer sensory-friendly performances throughout our season, as well as inclusive theatre workshops designed to celebrate the creativity and imagination of neurodivergent members of our community.

ASATI workshops welcome neurodivergent individuals ages 10 through adulthood, including those on the autism spectrum, individuals with Down syndrome, and those with learning or behavioral differences.

All levels of experience and ability are welcome.

Through the creative and healing power of theatrical play, participants are encouraged to explore self-expression, creativity, confidence, and self-advocacy in a supportive and welcoming environment. Led by theatre professionals and education specialists, each workshop incorporates activities designed to encourage social interaction, community building, individual creativity, and artistic expression.

Participants meet for eight 90-minute sessions on Saturdays, creating an opportunity to build connections, discover new interests, and experience the joy of theatre together.

ASATI is about more than theatre. It is about creating a space where every participant is welcomed, valued, and encouraged to express themselves.
