Education and Outreach

Thanks to a generous donation GCT is able to offer Need-Based Scholarships to all camps, classes & workshops! To learn more just email Christina@gctcomeplay.org
Germantown Community Theatre strives to create a safe and uplifting environment for performers of all ages. Our Education department provides many opportunities throughout the year. Our educational calendar always kicks off the year with Summer Camps for young artists aged 6 and up. These week long programs will teach children to act, sing, and dance as a part of an ensemble, while also providing the building blocks necessary to progress their knowledge in the performing arts.
In the fall, GCT offers at least two courses of theatrical programming to our area homeschool and after school students. These courses last 9-12 weeks and allow students to further their fine arts education during their elementary and high school years. GCT also participates in the City of Germantown’s Halloween Boo-Looza at Farm Park with an after school course for kid’s aged 8-16 culminating in a performance known as Scary Tale Trail in October.
The Spring Semester also includes at least two courses of Fine Arts Education for home school and after school students exploring theatrical design, role playing games and performance. One spring class culminates in our annual Books On Stage performance, which is always a play based on literature.
Camps and classes have participation fees. To be placed on our mailing list for upcoming youth opportunities from classes to special events to gathering art to display in our lobby please email christina@gctcomeplay.org
GCT is proud to include two shows in each theatrical season cast completely with youth talent. Students can take center stage and perform for our Patrons and their families. There is no fee to be in these productions and the performers do not have any responsibility to sell playbill ads. Please join our email newsletter and check our social media for these audition announcements.
