Evening Concerts & Special Events vary in price and often have more than one performance. 

Family Events vary in price and are typically earlier on a Saturday.

Tanisha Ward Lunchbreak Concert July 26th, 2024

GCT’s first Lunchbreak Concert of Season 53 brings back the incomparable singer-
Tanisha Ward with an hour of engaging beautiful music. 

This professional opera, Broadway, jazz and pop singer amazed a sold out house in our first Lunchbreak concert of last season. You may also have seen her on stage at Theatre Memphis in Master Class this past April or in a handful of Opera Memphis productions.
She also regularly performs in schools and special events with her non profit Classical Melodies Inc. Enjoy her vocals in this hour of selections that stir her heart and tell the story of The African American Experience Through Song!

Perspectives on Dvorak
Treat yourself to an afternoon of unforgettable string quartet music celebrating Czech-American composer Anton Dvorak, his inspirations, and his lasting legacy to classical music. Iris Collective musicians perform well-known favorites and hidden gems in this mid-day respite great for all ages.

Dr. Wacky Science Show!

Mr. Nick has been in his Science lab and has discovered the formula to make learning fun! Stir together equal parts of comedy, science, audience and teacher involvement, and you get a great, fun, high energy, motivational, learn-while-you-laugh show we like to call Dr. Wacky Science!

This 45 minute show is jam packed with lots of comedy and interaction for the kids, and of course, fun experiments! Kids will laugh and learn about lab safety, air pressure, solutions, electricity, how soap kills viruses and the real difference between magic and science! Kids love it, and adults appreciate the educational motivation!
 
Showtimes are 10am and 1pm and tickets are just $10 in advance and $15 day of show.

MSO is back for our Lunchbreak Series in Season 52. They’ve wowed you with pops like the Beatles and Holiday brass and now join GCT in welcoming them back for an hour of patriotic favorites the whole family can enjoy! Tap your toes and even sing along as we pay tribute to our service men and women, their families and the tunes that built America!

Our very first Lunchbreak Concert was Seasons Greetings with Memphis Symphony Orchestra. 

Now on our 3rd Christmas together, a select group of MSO musicians return again to set the mood for Holiday delights and warm family feelings with their wonderful music selections! 
 
Kids from 1 to 92 come enjoy FREE cookies, coffee and hot cocoa thanks to Teresa Jordan and an hour respite from the chill of winter among friends and family.

One Man's Christmas Carol Benefit Performance

Back by popular demand! Marques Brown’s Ostrander nominated original adaptation of Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol is an hour long sincere and uplifting portrayal of the most legendary tale of the season.

After a sold out run last year, Marques will treat audiences to this one man performance in the cozy setting of Germantown Community Theatre Thursday December 21st & Friday December 22nd at 2:30pm 

Tickets are only $10 for adults and $5 for children 17 and under 

ALL proceeds benefit Full Spectrum Theatre Initiative workshops at GCT Making sensory-friendly performances of our season shows possible and presenting inclusive theatre workshops that harness the imaginations of teen and adult neurodivergent members of our community through the healing expression of theatrical play!
 
These performances will be presented Sensory Friendly with ASL Interpreter Sherye Fairbanks so that anyone can truly enjoy the show.

Ticket holders are being contacted for full refund, but this amazing event is sadly being postponed. Perhaps with spring break coming the audience simply did not reach a level conducive to an excellent experience for all attending the show. It requires A LOT of participants to truly meet it’s potential and Mr. Nick wants anyone who attends to have the best possible time. Magic Mr. Nick will revisit this concept in the fall or maybe at a school near you!

GCT encourages you to consider his Dinosaur Crew show coming April 13th in lieu of this one! Those who had tickets already will not only be refunded but offered free seats at this show as thanks for changing your weekend plans last minute. We thank Mr. Nick for this consideration and look forward to Dinosaur Crew and all future shows!

Dinosaur Crew Show

Magic Mr. Nick and his friend Paleontologist Colby are back with a whole new slate of amazing dinosaur babies to introduce your excited kiddos to at this fun learning event! Your family or group will learn all about different types of dinosaurs and meet the most realistic new friends from millions of years ago.
There will even be giant adult dinosaurs to greet you on your way in and unforgettable photo ops with a 2000 pound raptor named Spike who loves to fetch! Your children will be astounded at this once in a lifetime experience filled with humor and thrills!

Hot Foot Honeys "Sound Matter" Tap Concert

In collaboration with Germantown Community Theatre, the Hot Foot Honeys present SOUND MATTER: A Tap Dance Concert. Hot Foot Honeys Tap Dance Company was founded in 2012 by Marianne Bell, and under the new direction of Brooke Jerome and Sara Sims, continues to preserve, promote, and perform rhythm tap dance across the Mid-South. 

SOUND MATTER features performances by Erin Billingsley, Katie Cowden, Susan Elswick, Brooke Jerome, Meredith Keaton, Kennedy McCaskill, Jelissa Myers, Graycie Pegram, Sara Sims, Elizabeth Smithers, Laura Testino, Olivia Wilkinson, and Faith Wood, with guest artists. This unique concert will be an electric and beautiful display of dance you won’t forget!
